Inspire, Build, Educate "Project Africa"
In 2005, 9-year-old Stefan Lyon told his mother he wanted to build a school in
Africa. Inspired by his ambition, Mrs. Lyon suggested they get a plan. They told
their ideas
to Adam Smith, manager of Albertson’s Market, who offered them free cookie
dough to support their cause. After baking the cookies Stefan piled them into his
wagon to sell to anyone who would buy them. Within 6 weeks Stefan and friends raised
$2,005. However, he still needs an additional $1,500 to complete his project. To
raise the extra money he wrote a book called, "My Adventures with Stitch." This
book contains many true stories about himself and his pet Stitch. This well illustrated,
fun and easy to read book for both children and adults sells for $10.
